As a successful homeschool mother of 7, a "Global Homeschool Expert" with 30 years of tried, true and tested experience under my belt, and the founder of the world's largest Global Black Homeschool & Education Institute, I’ve spent my life designing the solutions that empower families like yours. The right approach to homeschooling is more than just finding what works – it’s just as important to know what not to do. Avoiding both the common and uncommon pitfalls is key to setting our children up for success. Believe me, I’ve had my share of trial-and-error moments that taught me invaluable lessons, which I now consider my most precious jewels. That’s why I make it a priority to share these personal experiences in my training, so others can gain the insight and foresight needed to overcome any challenges they face.
When I started homeschooling in 1995, people thought I was insane. They’d ask, “What makes you want to do something crazy like homeschooling? Girl, is that even legal?” Even my husband at the time could not fully understand my rationale. He always said, "We turned out alright so why we need to homeschool? Nobody does that?" Being the strong-willed, out-of-the-box seeker on the road less traveled, I did it anyway. Sometimes you have to get a little crazy to completely overhaul the old systems that aren't serving us, our children, and our community if we want to create new pathways to excellence and success that will transform the trajectory of your family’s legacy and insert joy, peace, and power back into the equation.
